Personalised disease modelling
Meet The Team
Professor of Analytical BioSciences at Leiden University. Expert in innovative analytical tools for metabolomics-driven systems biology in personalized health strategies.
Dr. Andrea Dardis holds Master's degree in Biochemistry, a PhD in Molecular Biology and Specialist Degree in Medical Genetics. Currently, She is responsible for the “Biobank of ALS, Neuromuscular and Lysosomal Diseases” of the University Hospital of Udine. Her activities are mainly focused on the biochemical and molecular diagnosis of lysosomal storage diseases (LSDs), the functional characterization of defective lysosomal enzymes, and studies aimed at understanding the molecular bases of LSDs and developing novel therapeutic strategies for these disorders.
Dr. Maximiliano Ormazabal
Postdoctoral researcher at the Regional Coordination Centre for Rare Diseases at the Central University Hospital of Friuli (Udine, Italy). Holds Master's degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biological Sciences. In the Recon4IMD project, aims to develop an in vitro cell model for the evaluation of different functional variants of the GBA enzyme involved in Gaucher disease. In addition to the generation of the macrophage model from GD patient samples.
Dr. Eleonora Pavan
A post-doc researcher in the laboratory of the Regional Coordinator Center for Rare Diseases at the Friuli Centrale University Hospital in Udine (Italy). Holds Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, a Master’s degree in Molecular biotechnology. and a PhD in Biomedical Science and Biotechnology. In the Recon4IMD project, she will focus on RNA sequencing of macrophages derived from Gaucher patients.
